Leave

You held my hand,
You told me,
"You'll one day grow,"
You told me,
"Into a wonderful man."

You said that,
You believed that,
But how am I meant to believe?
When you left me,
Left me to feel all this pain.

You taught me to be you,
And each day I try to prove,
I try to let go and move,
But the grasp you've got,
It doesn't want to leave.

Unlike you.

Footprints.

I look behind me,
To see our footprints in the sand,
I look down to see,
Your footprints in the sand.

Did we press too hard?
Too fast?
Or was life always in the past?

When we swam in the sea,
Did you drown in front of me?
I stepped on the shore,
To find you not behind me.

I searched the landscape,
Asked people to help,
But not one had seen your face,
Or felt the presence of your grace.

I started to wonder,
Nay, I started to believe,
That you was never a part of me,
And there was no we.

Yet whilst I traced our footprints in the sand,
I noticed the face of another man,
He was treading footprints too,
But this time with you.

Surface

I can't find the surface,
Can you tell me?
I can't find the surface,
Can you please tell me?
Is it meant to be the sand?
Or the blue before my hands?

One Last Dream

I dreamt,
I dreamt,
One night,
Of red.

Ever since,
Ever since,
Empty,
Is my head.

Empty

Empty I stand,
Before you,
Naked in your eyes,
I bare all.

My heart does not love,
Nor does it care,
I see you as an object,
Invisible in my stare.

It's not always been empty,
Some where I lost that,
Glad slightly,
I hurt no more.

Remember why I'm here,
For a moment,
A second,
I forget.

What love did to me,
That moment I was left,
But now on my own I must decide,
All the next steps.
